Nigeria, Ghana through to 2018 World Cup qualifying group stage



The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the third round group stage of African qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup after a 2-0 win over Swaziland.


After a 0-0 first leg result, Moses Simon made the breakthrough at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt in the 52nd minute.

Efe Ambrose sealed the result with three minutes remaining to ensure Sunday Oliseh’s side will be in the hat for the group stages.

In other results, Ghana also managed a 2-0 home win over Comoros after a 0-0 first leg result. Wakaso Mubarak struck in the 17th minute before Jordon Ayew made the game safe five minutes from the end.
